About Myself:
Liza is an independent journalist based in the San Francisco Bay Area, senior editor at PLOS Biology, and contributor to The Science Writers' Handbook and KQED State of Health. She writes mostly about conservation issues, and public and environmental health. Her stories have appeared in diverse outlets, including The New York Times, Discover, The Washington Post, National Geographic's News Watch, San Francisco Chronicle, East Bay Express, and Wine Spectator. She is a 2015 California Health Data Journalism Fellow and a 2013 Dennis Hunt Fund for Health Journalism fellow.
